Software house inglese fondata nel 1985 produttrice di gran parte dei principali successi per Amiga.

I videogiochi della Psygnosis sono stati caratterizzati per anni dal particolare stile grafico mediato dall'illustratore Roger Dean e dalle eccezionali sequenze introduttive animate, abbandonate nelle più recenti produzioni.

Fra i più noti titoli di questa software house ricordiamo la saga in tre parti di ”Shadow of the Beast” ideata dall'ex fondatore della Imagine Software Ian Hetherington e l'innovativo ”Lemmings”.

È stata acquistata nel 1993 dalla Sony Computer Entertainment ed è diventata la SCE Studio Liverpool, con la quale ha iniziato a produrre giochi per console (uno dei più famosi la serie di Wipeout).
